For our third edition of AFTERNOON, we wanted to explore the glory of tactility in all of its forms. In his comic, Kristofferson San Pablo displays a literal form—the smack—through Björk’s infamous Bangkok incident, while Roland Campbell demonstrates the interplay between romanticism and tactility in poetry. This edition also includes examinations of metaphysical interpretations of our theme, including an article by Cameron McIntyre that looks at our impulse to try to find order in life’s chaos, through a stats-theory lens. Fernando do Campo, Katie Morton, and Sarah Ritz each provide artistic demonstrations of tactility that will leave your fingers tingling.
